Pastor Jamar Andrews
Pastor Jamar Andrews is a native of Jonesboro, Ark. On Feb. 19, 2006, he surrendered to Jesus Christ and was called to ministry shortly after being saved. On Dec. 15, 2007, he married his wife, Stephanie; they have two children: a daughter, Eva, and son, Elliot. Stephanie works part-time for Jonesboro Public Schools and serves in the children’s ministry at Word Baptist Church. Jamar serves as lead pastor at Word Baptist and is currently the 2nd Vice President of the Arkansas Baptist State Convention. He has had the opportunity to preach at three of the six Southern Baptist seminaries and in 2016 served on the SBC Committee on Committees. He is also a trustee at Williams Baptist University.
Jamar has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communication from Arkansas State University and completed a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing sports, and fishing. He has a passion to see lives transformed and the world reached with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

ministry affiliations and resources
Pastor Jamar maintains connections and fellowship with groups across the Southern Baptist Convention. From his time as a student and employee at Southwestern Seminary to his current involvement with the Prestonwood Network, Pastor Jamar looks for ways to build up other believers, to spur on fellow ministers, and to cooperate with fellow Southern Baptists to win the lost for Christ.
